RFQ Designer aims at supporting designers of Radio Frequency Quadrupole accelerator to settle several important parameters. RFQ Designer translates user's constraints and objectives into a file describing a RFQ cavity that conforms to these constraints and objectives. This process is supported by a series of multiparameter minimizations of a cost function composed of weighted objectives.
The output file provides enough details for supporting beam dynamics simulations with a third party code like Toutatis. RFQ Designer features a multiparticle mode that extends its capabilities when a compatible simulation code is installed. RFQ Designer's approach is to support beginners as well as confirmed designers by offering a quite comprehensive set of knobs with default settings. Pre-knowledge of RFQ accelerators is recommended.
